About the Model Town
Wimborne Model Town is a 1/10th scale of the centre of Wimborne as it was in the 1950s which opened in the 1951. The charity attraction, mainly staffed by volunteers, sits on a 2/3 acre site with mature gardens and complementary facilities. With increasing details added over the years, you can get really close up and even touch the buildings. Peer into the Butchers, the Ironmongers, the Bakery and the Fishmongers, not forgetting the stunning interior of the Minster Church.
This year we have a Model Town trail which will take you along our one way, safe distance route. fEventually you approach Wendy Street, which has recently been refurbished, but has no additional play items to comply with our COVID Site Audit.
Why not test your skills on our Crazy Golf course. Great Fun! While you are excitedly adding up the scores on the official Scorecard provided, the children have found the next attraction – the most fantastic working Model Railway layout.
Our railway this year has the new Milkshake Train Line and features new heat sensitive control panels - no touching please. Please be patient - there may be a little wait as there is a restriction on numbers able to enter at one time. Thomas is running most days and we have a day time / night time running lighting system.Thomas & co souvenirs can be found in our Gift Shop which has a great range of goods and gifts to remember your visit by.
